My Bio
I'm half of a super-artistic duo with my partner of 18 years.
We rescue bunnies and believe that intersectional veganism can exist along with food justice and sovereignty.
I was told in art school by the head of the jewelry department that my work is "too whimsical." For a while, I believed her. She was wrong.
I like to make art whether other people like it or not. I don't care if I'm ever famous, but I want us to be able to sustain ourselves with our artwork.
I will never be the artist that my partner is, but I don't mind.
We moved to Portland, OR in the fall of '21 after a decade of dreaming of it.
I went to school for Musical Theater the first time around. I occasionally burst out in song. You've been warned.

So life is pretty nutz these days, but not really in a bad way. It's been a year since my last journal entry so you can tell how important it seems to me to document this all in words. Journals have never really held my interest, except in brief stints. And no one really reads this anyhow. But here's what's going on anyhow.
We decided we'd like to own a home so we started cleaning up our credit. Found an amazing house and were down to the inspection phase right before you make your initial offer and found the bank wouldn't allow an inspection cause they didn't want to deal with loan people, and they absolutely would NOT budge. So wow. yeah. Summer is gone, the college students have moved back in to their dorms (blarg) and taken over public places like Target and Kirkwood Ave, the text book store and all the good places to eat in this town along with all the not-so-decent places, too. I should have gotten my text books early, but i never learn. Bloomington is blissful when the kids go home... i need a town like this but without the influx of rich kids once a year.
I'm currently chowing down on some egg salad from Bfoods and wishing i didn't have a million things to do today that are more important than sitting here, and yet here i still am.
The wedding is...*gasp*

I think someone's got it out for me this month. My fiance said last night "I didn't want to bring it up, but maaan you've had a crappy crappy month!"
Check it out:
*It started mostly with me getting to see Watchmen at midnight on my birthday... which was awesome... but then by the end of my birthday I was already sick with a horrible sinus infection which lasted for a week- no insurance, so i just had to ride it out
*got behind in school because of it, had to turn in a metals assignment late and didn't write a paper at all because of sickness and metals
*had to take an incomplete in the class because of it ^ or lose $700 or get an F
